More Foal Pics
October 2003

Fio Power produces a fabulous colt by KEC Double Diamond in 2003. Yes, he's surely destined to turn grey, but look at his sporthorse body, his angles and his legs. This chap is full bodied, elegant and flashy. He is depicted from right at a few days old, to today at 4-5 months... He'll have good size as well.

Finally! Some pictures of a 2003 Aldatus baby!! Congratulations Tracey on this fine young clot by Aldatus Z out of Julianna [below]. Now that we have some photos of him, keep them coming! We look forward to seeing much more of this young lad! Still waiting on pictures of the Aldatus filly born in 2003... Benita??

RPSI Approves Irish Stallion to Stallion Book II
September 2003

During the last weekend of September KEC Double Diamond [Oisin] was presented to the Rheinland-Pfalz-Saar and the inspectors from Germany for consideration for Stallion Book II. Since the Irish Draught is not of germanic origin, the RID cannot be considered for Stallion Book I. We are pleased to announce that not only was KEC Double Diamond approved for Stallion Book II, but Otto took the time to identify to the audience the specific attributes and strengths of the RID in the world of showjumping and eventing particularly, and as a strong outcross sire. We believe the German inspector was genuinely surprised at the agility and expression in Oisin's movement during the "loose movement" section of the inspection... After the inspection Adsagsona was sought out for discussion on breeding crosses, progeny to date and dressage training. Congratulations KEC Double Diamond!

Irish Inspectors Had a Blast
September 2003

During the Inspection Tour in 2003, Adsagsona hosted an inspection with the generous donation of facility by Lady Donna Hecht and JDon Andalusians of Somis, California. In typical LA style, the inspectors were 'bussed' to and from the airport by Limousine and we even found time to go to Universal Studios [I don't think Susan will ever forget and I hope to have pictures soon]. While the numbers of participants in the LA inspection were modest this year, the event drew a dozen or more spectators who stayed for the event, an informaton session, a farm tour, lunch and an exhibition of dressage with KEC Double Diamond! Everyone had a great time and the inspectors were very pleased with the event's organization, the veterinarian on location and the facilities available.

A thorough examination was undertaken by the inspectors and a veterinary exam was provided to each mare. Thank you to all participants in the inspection tour this year - and congratulations to all that passed the inspections. More inspection news can be found at: http://www.irishdraught.com.

The inspectors enjoyed Oisin's impromptu exhibition to Irish music and were delighted to see the stallion working under saddle. Adsagsona received praise for their methodology in training and exclusivity in their breeding practices. Paddy called Oisin a "magnificant ambassador for the breed".

2003 Progeny a "Chip Off The Ole Block"
June 2003

Gorgeous stock for the second year! A chip off the ole block according to breeders - whether colt or filly, each foal exhibits a strong sense of self early and an affection for people. Waiting for pictures from last 3, latest birth June 25 - bay filly!

Above: this set of photos depict a deep chestnut (bet's on turning grey?) purebred filly at one-week old. Superb bone, and conformation, jumped mom on day one while she was napping... shows excellent movement.

Above: this set of photos depict daddy's bright chestnut coloration. Irish Sport Horse colt at about 2 weeks old - same questions arises as to whether grey or chestnut will remain dominant color for this young colt... Dominant traits include fabulous top-line, throat latch and neck, balanced shoulder and hip, floating movement, keen and independent soul.

Left: the above photo shows Oisin's first "not chestnut born" filly. Carina is is a stylish Irish Sport Horse Filly born June 25, 2003. Dominant traits include fabulous shoulder and hip, beautiful head, floating movement, and a strong constitution. This filly had a rough start with a redbag delivery [and early], but she is none the worse for wear today and is growing well. We look forward to receiving more photo's of this baby soon!

2002 Progeny on The Ground
June 2002

First stock on the ground! Fillies, fillies and more fillies...

Above: this set of photos depict Oisin's [KEC Double Diamond] first US progeny from one-day old to 2 weeks. A bright chestnut Irish Sport Horse filly with superb bone, conformation, and movement.

Above: this set of photos depict Oisin's first purebred filly at one week and again at 8 months mid-winter. She is a filly of substance and power, with thrust in her hind end that will be difficult to match. Her short back and long neck will be sure to compliment her powerful legs.

He's Home !
April 2001

KEC Double Diamond, having completed CEM quarantine at Davis is home! On April 21, 2001, after a clean bill of health from Davis, and despite the staff's concerted efforts to get us to leave him there becasue they'd become attached... He's now home... The photo's below were taken about one-hour after his arrival at his new home. Join us in our excitement at having this fabulous stallion in our barn. It'll be fun to be part of his growth and maturing process.

KEC Double Diamond Arrives in US!
March 2001

After a week on pins and needles [concerns with the outbreak of foot 'n mouth and mad cow disease in Europe], KEC Double Diamond arrives in the United States. KEC Double Diaomond, or "Oisin" as he's called in the barn, arrived on KLM flight 601 from Ireland by way of Amsterdam. Although flights were delayed due to extraordinary disinfection precautions being taken by the USDA, Oisin was one of the fortunate few who made it in from Amsterdam this week, before its borders were closed to livestock traffic.

Oisin arrived at approximately 2:30 PM and was the first off the plane. His own announcement to the US that he was here was bellowed across the tarmac after which, with the deportment of a true gentleman, he was loaded onto a lorry and taken immediately to his quarantine facility where he undertook additional nontoxic disinfecting techniques for his hooves and body, before settling into his quarantine. Oisin is currently residing at UC Davis' undergoing standard CEM quarantine and is scheduled to be released to owner, Adsagsona Farm, on April 21.

Jutta is delighted Oisin is here and made the following statement, "KEC Double Diamond comes to us from Bill Kennedy's farm in Shannon, Ireland. He is a strapping 16.3hh stallion, just turning 5 years old." "KEC Double Diamond completed his stallion approval in December of 2001 in Ireland, with his performance points earned in showjumping. I am delighted to be the first to introduce dressage to him. With his powerful physique and generous nature, coupled with his lightness of movement, it will be a pleasure."
